Project: “Theoretical and Empirical Models for Japanese Educational Cultures”

Starting in April 2018, the Global Education Office has initiated a new project entitled ”Developing Theoretical and Empirical Models for ‘Japanese’ Educational Cultures and its Knowledge Transmission.” This flagship project is a platform for interdisciplinary research on a possibility for developing new global standards on education, different from either Anglo-European models or oversimplified practice-based ‘Japanese’ models of education. This project sheds lights to cultural assumptions underlying Japanese education cultures by taking not only global perspectives but also theoretical and empirical approaches.
