Office director Hirotaka NANBU and Assistant Professor Jieli ZHANG visited Beijing Normal University and the Chinese National Academy of Educational Sciences.

On the 14th, a meeting was held at the Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University, with the presence of Faculty of Education’s Vice-Dean Kai YU, Institute of Higher Education’s Vice-Director Ruijun DU, Institute for Vocational and Adult Education’s Vice-Director Bin BAI and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation’s Director Jing LIU. Views were shared on the current status and future direction of the international exchange between Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Education and Beijing Normal University’s Faculty of Education. An agreement was reached to devise and implement more engaging academic exchange projects for faculty and graduate students. On the 15th, a symposium was held at the Chinese National Academy of Educational Sciences. Moderated by the Academy’s Vice-Dean Fayou YU, the event facilitated discussions between researchers from various fields on shared educational issues and reform trends between Japan and China. After reviewing the history of international exchange trends at Kyoto University’s Graduate School of Education and the Chinese National Academy of Educational Sciences, participants shared their views on prospects and concrete plans for future academic exchanges.
